i reckon if you have a servo and micro switch in line with the main power so that will failsafe in accordance with the throttle channel then that would work in addition to providing a remote power switch. andrew did that on orbit. worked good.

All the mucking round would prob defeat buying the radio in the first place.
Im going pcm now since its cheaper and i can still buy a short transmitter antenna and reciever antenna for only a little more. _________________ Tim Team Reaper.

The PCM radio thats been mentioned at tower hobbies is only a single conversion not dual.
Is this an issue at all _________________ Bots that do not destroy you, only make you stronger.

lol i think he ment micro to relay or to cut the power from the reciever battery to the reciever.
But then you kneed a micro and reciever battery and servo all exess crapola in your bot. _________________ Tim Team Reaper.

nah i meant run it through a micro/relay what have you if you really felt the need to run the dx-6.
but then again you can always get a dx-3 and gain a real appreciation for the awesomeness of a wheel radio hehe _________________ www.demon50s.com - Minimoto parts

Actually... I just had an idea.
If i built a board with a picaxe 18X that watched the throttle channel, if the throttle channel drops below 20% (indicating a failsafe), the picaxe turns a transistor off, which cuts the signal wire between the ESC and radio. So all the other channels would lose the signal from the RX and they would failsafe.. I believe this would cost around $20 to make and will handle 6ch easily...

Do you mean if the signal drops 20% or if the stick is less then 20% forward?
Anyway im interested. _________________ Tim Team Reaper.

probably means that you set the throttle to failsafe at 0% and then stick the throttle all the way fowards so if it failsafes and goes below whatever level itll shut the whole robot off.

Well, according to the DX-6 manual, it drops the throttle channel to a low setting, I don't think it will actually bring it to neutral (That would turn the planes motor off) So if we use 20% as a rough figure, if it drops below 20% stick on the throttle channel (you'll have to push the stick past 20% to get the rest of your channels to work) then that means the radio is in failsafe mode or you have pushed the stick back to the failsafe position, which tells the picaxe to switch each channels signal wire off with a transistor inline..

What do you mean? With this little board, you will not loose any functionality of the radio, you'll only lose the throttle channel (not many of us use it anyway, because of the crappy ratchet on them) _________________ https://www.halfdonethings.com/
