As long as you dont mind being confined to a track or metal surface that can support the field density required to support your weight without saturation, magnetism is fine.

Which is why its kind of useless for anything except a train that follows tracks. Air is everywhere (well, horizontally anyway), and so is gravity if we can ever work out how to "push against it"
