Car Parts

I couldn't find any thread similar to this, so I've created this one. I'm currently chasing a set of water hoses for a Nissan Silvia S13 Q. These are the water hoses that are surrounding the intake manifold (I'll have a photo up tonight of the hoses). I'm wondering if anyone like George or Andrew would know where to get these hoses with out costing an arm or a leg.

The hoses on my Silvia are still intact and not leaking, but I'd like to replace them as they are starting to look suspect. I'm going to give Just Japs Auto Importers a call today, but I believe they will probably be expensive.

So if anyone happens to have a set of these or knows some good places to get them, please post here, PM me or email me.

Thanks in advance!

I might be able to find some.
I have enough Silvia parts to build a complete Silvia from scratch!

Autobarn / Supercheap / any of the parts places have some that can be used for the top hose, but the bottom hose will probably need to be genuine.
All the small ones are pretty easy to make up using off the shelf stuff.

You wouldn't happen to have a 5 Speed Manual to suit a CA18DE? Very Happy The hoses I needs are small 1/2 inch diameter ones and are molded to shape. Only two of them look suspect, but I'll get the lot of them incase some more start to perish. None of the local Autobahn, Super cheaps locally stock the parts. Repco don't even have the Silvia range in there stock books Confused

Anyway, photos of the hoses here:

Hard to see them, but they are there Razz

ahhh, CA18.

In that case yep I have them, but they're not that likely to be any better in condition.

I have a spare CA18 engine, but I've never had a CA18 car.

Are they the hoses that connect to the throttle body heating circuit? (small pipes on the bottom of the throttle body)

If so, you'd be better off removing them, getting some general purpose EFI hose, and bypassing the whole thing.
It's not needed, especially in Queensland Smile, and reduces power.

I know someone that had a gearbox, but I think he just sold it.

Do you reckon I could just get some EFI hosing and make my own hoses for them. I'd like to just leave it stock standard for now until I know a bit more about the car myself, then I can look at doing some mod, like by passing mod.

Thanks for the help Andrew, knew you would be the man to ask Razz

yeah you can easily make your own hoses, but I'd still bypass that bit - it's just designed to heat the throttle up to prevent icing in the colder areas of Japan.

Hey Andrew, was wondering if u might have some advice for me.
Need to do a repair on the mechanism for the electric window so have to remove the whole system from the door.
Theres a cable that runs through the whole system and not sure if I have to remove this cable or remove just the glass piece or maybe something else.
Have removed most bolts and its just loose in the door but can not be removed yet.
Any ideas on this would be greatfully appreciated.

hmm I can't remember how I last did that.

I'm pretty sure I pulled the whole mechanism out as one, glass and all.

Hey Andrew, since you said you had nearly enough parts to build a Silvia from scratch Razz I'm wondering i you happen to have a Left Hand Engine Mount that your willing to sell. I've tried getting one through justjaps.com but they can only get me a right hand mount.

If you do have one, name your price.
