Aaron has always had a respectful attitude towards powering up Annihilation. Would you care to repost your power up procedure here, Aaron? Would anyone else like to post their procedures?

With Annihilation, I waited till everyone else was out the arena, I put in the metal 20mm thick locking rod and made sure the weapon was firmly locked, I then removed the link for it's hanging position on the tail and held the weapon with my spare hand when I plugged the link it. The IBC always gives a small kick on the weapons channels, so I was always ready for something to go wrong.

After it was powered up, I would stand back and half lean over the top and remove the steel locking pin, then cautiously exit the arena. Once the arena was locked up, I would turn my transmitter on to check that it was working fine. Then I was ready to battle Smile

Robowars is a combined effort and no-one says differently , but the present running of the actual events is presently being done by me .
Any voulenteers for the job are greatfully accepted .

Query about arean floor material (specifically marayong)

Hey guys.

Can someone please give me some guidance on
the damage rules/guidelines regarding damage to
the arena floor.

Im in VERY early stages of a bot design that could
damage the floor. Unknown weight class at this time,
but aiming around middle weight.

Think of a bulldozer blade, with LARGE teeth on
the bottom, lifting up and slamming down like
a hammer... Kewl if theres a bot under it, but
what about when theres not?

Do I NEED to come up with some way uf preventing,
or cushioning its impact on the arena floor? I dont
wish to have to pay for re-concreting the arena each
time I compete...

Please forgive if this is covered elsewhere, but I
couldnt find it. Just point me there if Ive missed it.

Thanks muchly,
Grotto.

hey there i dont think you have anything to worry about at the moment seeing as though none of us have a middleweight arena around so no worries there!

in the marayong arena if it where scaled down it would probably peel the floor panels up, but a few people have done that anyway, as long as you hammer it back to shape afterward its okay.

Thanks Glen,
So I think my next question should be...
What is the weight class of Marayong ?
and
What is the most common weight class for Marayong?
To give me max maximum number of victims....
errr... Embarassed I mean competitors.
I'm only at cad stage so scaling down is easy at this point.
I'm a noob to robotics and combat so I picked middleweight
as I guessed most people would go for the 'middle'.

Thankx Muchly.

the common weight class australia wide is feather weights (13.6kg) and is fun but if your just starting out i would actually go to the funbotic class first (so ya can get the hang of the basics and its far cheaper than the feathers it would seem not to mention you get to trial your ideas before you pump it out in the feathers)
